Challenge: Dogs are no longer just pets, they are essentially children. Single dog parents can have a tough time finding a partner who loves dogs and wants to be a dog co-parent on standard dating apps. Plus the standard first-date options are mostly not dog-friendly. To meet these needs, I have created a mock dating app specifically tailored to dog parents to create positive matches and provide dog-friendly date solutions.
Objectives:
- Design a user-centric app experience that helps dog parents find love
- Offer exclusive promotions for dog-friendly establishments for users to plan date experiences
- Provide space for dog-friendly local merchants to promote their small businesses to target audiences
Persona:
- Kate, 27 years old
- Dog mom of 1 (Huck, a 9 month old Golden Retriever)
- Recently moved to a new city
- Lives downtown in a large city with one roommate
- Has had her dog for 3 months
- Works from home, does not feel comfortable leaving dog home alone for long periods of time
- Single, ready to mingle
- Looking for a serious relationship with a man, open to more dogs
- Looking for someone who is social, likes going out to do activities, and OBVIOUSLY must love dogs
- Loves going on walks with her dog, but wants to come up with more creative date ideas and explore her new city more
- Middle class: has some expendable income to go out for date activities but still appreciates a good deal
